Engine 8 continues its longstanding tradition of providing fire protection at the Perry County Fair on Wednesday evenings.

We regret to report the passing of Chuck Moyer on August 17, 2026. Chuck was an active member of New Bloomfield Fire Company in the early 2000s before moving to the Mifflintown area in Juniata County. At the time of his passing, he served with Mifflintown Hose Company. Trainees and current drivers spent additional time operating the Tanker, practicing drafting water through the rear intake from a portable fold-a-tank. Engine 8 was also utilized to draft water from the pond, supplying water to the new Rescue, which then pumped and refilled the fold-a-tank for the Tanker.

Austyn Mclaren began his service with NBFC as a junior firefighter in 2011. He continues to respond to emergency calls and participates in fundraising whenever possible.
