New Sutphen Tanker Delivered To Station 8

All good things must come to an end, and the time has come for our 1985 Mack/LTI tanker. NBFD was very fortunate to get 39 years of fire service out of our Mack tanker. Like everything else, old age starts coming with problems, parts get harder to find or take longer to get, rust starts eating the metal and fewer new drivers know how to drive a manual transmission.

Last Sutphen Tanker Update

June 07

Last pictures from Sutphen East. The tanker committee will be making the trip for the final inspection on Wednesday, 6-12-24. Once the members go over the tanker and everything is a go, the tanker will be coming back to New Bloomfield later that day.
Once in New Bloomfield then some lettering and mounting of equipment will take place. Plus driver's will start training.... (Full Story & Photos)

No Caption Vehicle Accident / 1336 Sherman's Valley Rd, Centre Twp

Rescue 8, EMS 89-2 and CC Medic 1-40 were dispatched for a vehicle accident with a utility pole and wires down. Units arrived on scene to find the driver and passenger out of the vehicle with one lane blocked by a sheared utility pole. EMS checked out occupants and transported two to a local hospital, while Rescue 8's crew checked for hazards. NBFD Fire Police controlled traffic until ... (Full Story & Photos)

Assisting Company 10 with a Building Fire / Center Rd, Buffalo Twp

Tanker 8 was added on the 2nd alarm with other companies to assist Newport Fire Co with a building fire with multiple exposures. Tanker 8 dumped off its tank water into a fold a tank to support fire ground operations. Rescue 8 was added to fill in for units not on the street, and was redirected to station 10 while enroute for a stand by.

Sutphen Tanker Update

Members participated in the annual Memorial Day Parade in New Bloomfield, as the rain held off.
Right after the parade, the tones dropped for a tree on wires call. The tree was removed and Engine 8 went available.
