Training / Elevator Awareness Class
April 29
Members from New Bloomfield and Millerstown fire companies finished the elevator class tonight. We went to the Courthouse and Rhinesmith County buildings to go over the elevators in these two buildings. Students went over procedures for a stalled elevator and how to safely rescue anyone inside the elevator compartment. Thanks to members who could make this class and the instructor, Sam Clark. Water Rescue / Holman Lake, Centre Twp.
April 26
4-26-25 @ 16:10 Company 8 was dispatched for a water rescue at Holman Lake. Chief 8-1 was nearby and started to get information and location of person. The state park boat was put in service with chief 8-1, 8-4, a park ranger and FF Weaver before NBFD units arrived. The victim was in the water wearing a pfd and holding on to another kayak. 4-24-25 @ 12:10 Woods and small building fire / 200 Rohm Ln, Saville Twp. Tanker 8 along with other 1st alarm units were dispatched for a reported small building and woods fire to assist Ickesburg Fire Co. Tanker 8 picked up company 3's 5 inch supply line and pumped water for fire ground operations. Blain and Millerstown tankers shuttled water from a fill site to tanker 8. April 19 2025 Easter weekend has been a memorable time for NBFC. We have had our share of building and wood fires in the past years on this weekend. So I guess this year will leave it's mark too.
