https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064935210397 Pennsylvania trip - New Bloomfield Volunteer Fire Company Station 8 , Perry County. A few days ago we shared the start of Caden and I's trip through rural Perry County, Pennsylvania. Our next stop was in New Bloomfield. The county seat of Perry, Company 8 serves a small community in the middle of the county. This is a volunteer company that operates from a single station. Several nice pieces of equipment at New Bloomfield. Tanker 8 operates a beautiful 2024 Sutphen Monarch. I was fortunate to catch this one quickly, as crews were headed out on this truck for a station fill. The front-line Engine and Squad are both Spartan's built by Darley. A new heavy rescue had just been delivered when we visited. The new Rescue 8 was not yet lettered when photographed. A huge treat was seeing Company 8's 1933 Hahn antique. This truck was re-acquired in 1970 and underwent a complete restoration. Another antique was found at the firehouse, but unfortunately could not be moved. The 1949 Mack is privately owned. My sincere thanks to Mitch and the rest of the guys at New Bloomfield for a great visit. This is an impressive department with a lot of evident pride.
