Become a New Bloomfield Fire Company Volunteer!

The New Bloomfield Fire Co. is always looking for new members to volunteer and help our organization achieve its strategic objectives. We believe that everyone has something to offer in their own personal way that will benefit our company.

Running a modern day fire department involves much more than just answering calls for service.  The dedicated volunteers of the New Bloomfield Volunteer Fire Department spend countless hours answering alarms, training, presenting fire prevention programs, running the day to day business operations of the department, fund raising, and performing maintenance on apparatus, equipment, and the station.  All of this, and much more, is performed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Junior - A Junior Member is someone aged 14-17. Junior members are able to participate in and attend company level training and meetings as well as obtain training from off-site locations, such as HACC, in order to obtain necessary training requirements based on their age group. Junior members fall under certain regulations due to their age. They are able to be "on station" and participate in daily station duties (cleaning and other chores) as well as assist with maintaining the apparatus. It is our hope that Juniors coming in as members attend as much training as they can in order to broaden their horizons in the emergency services family.

Regular - A Regular Member is someone aged 18 and over who attends meetings, trainings, and other company functions. When qualified, regular members are able to enter burning buildings and operate power and hydraulic equipment. Regular members have the options of being a firefighter, fire police officer, or in a support role as a "social" type member available to assist with administrative functions and fund raising activities.

Fire Police - The role of the Fire Police Officer is to maintain the protection and safety of Fire Company personnel and equipment while at an emergency scene. Fire Police also assist with parking details for various events.  They are also there to control the actions of a crowd and keep them at a distance for everyone's safety.
