A little history about this event: In the year 2002 Eddie Orris came up with this event as a spin off from the worldwide Scott firefighter challenge. He also was the organizer for many years. After Eddie, Mike Sheaffer took over for a period of time. Presently Scott Kerstetter is taking care of the challenge.
The combat challenge t-shirts you see people wearing the day of the street fair has a logo of a firefighter pulling the hose. This would be Jason Hoffman, a NBFD firefighter taken from a photo one year he ran the course. (Thanks Kirby Kitner for funding the t-shirts again this year.)
The Combat Challenge has become a highlight at the street fair. |
