| Members from New Bloomfield and a member from Ickesburg fire companies started a16 hour water rescue class at Station 8 on Wednesday evening, the 10th of September. Students were in the classroom for the first 4 hours to go over objectives and requirements.
The following Wednesday evening, members went to the BCC pool to practice their skills before moving on to the river. Saturday, September 20th was the final class. Members travelled to the Susquehanna River at McKee's Half Falls above Liverpool, PA. for everyone to practice in moving water as each person had the chance to be rescued or be a rescuer. Everyone passed.
Thank you to the members Scott Kerstetter, Colin Reynolds, Dwayne Martin, Brandon Hancher, Austin Elliot, and Nathanael McNaughton for taking the time to take this class, and also to Marv Reist for coming up and teaching. A special thanks to BCC Pool for allowing us to use their pool and to Dan Paul and Christa Wills for chaperoning our crew. |
