Fire Prevention Week October 6th--11th This years NFPA theme is lithium-ion battery safety.
NBFD members made the annual trip to the New Bloomfield Elementary School for this year's fire prevention program. The morning starts with a fire drill and once all the kids are outside in their designated spots, the apparatus responds in with lights and siren. This year 370 students from K -- 5 watched a movie and had the opportunity to see the apparatus, as well as ask any questions. Each student received a goody bag with fire prevention material to take home and share. Thanks to the committee and members that helped.
Anyone entering New Bloomfield from the East or West will see banners in yards giving fire prevention tips too.
